I don't know if my comment will appear below the photo that made me "put pen to paper". But, the camera is below the dog and looking up at the bird, flying away . . . as they always do. But, thanks. I have 3 dogs. They are fascinated by birds. But, I am out of the habit of shooting. The dogs ask me why and to have me fill the computer screen with this image. The Wiemeraner sits at my side and tries to get me to do this with him. My 3 year old lab cowers when I get out the lady's shot gun.
But, Larry's sculpture makes me want to walk down by the creek and take a shot at a duck or two. A good dog deserves a shooter for a master. My youngest lab will hunt. Even though I have never captured a bird for my dogs, Larry has. The pup, in my lap, wants me to stop typing and go back to the photo of the dog, leaping joyously at the bird.
